The JW Marriot Resort and spa in Scottsdale on Saturday April 12 rolled out the red carpet for Muhammad Ali’s charity event “Celebrity Fight Night”. This event brings Hollywood glitz and glamour to the desert.
This year Celebrity Fight Night reached a milestone celebrating 20 years of celebrities coming together to help raise money to aid in the research to finding a cure to end Parkinson’s disease. Over the past 19 years Celebrity Fight Night has raised $87 million and this past weekend $8 million more has been raised for Muhammad Ali and the Barrow Neurological Institute.
Performances included The Band Perry, Michael Buble and Kenny Rogers who was one of the first musical performers to entertain at this event in 1994. Special award recognition was given to actor Robert DeNiro and philanthropist John Paul DeJoria.
Reba McEntire returned for her ninth year as emcee and songwriter and music producer David Foster returned for his 15th consecutive year as the evening’s Musical Director.
Celebrity Fight Night is recognized as one of the world’s most elite charity events. The black tie event features, a silent auction, a gourmet dinner, a live auction and one-of-a-kind luxury items like dinner for four in New York city with Robert DeNiro and Billy Crystal.
