As the Philadelphia area cringes at the prospect of yet another winter storm, the annual Philadelphia Flower Show will brighten up the Philadelphia Convention Center this week for those itching for a taste of spring. This year’s theme is ARTiculture: where art meets horticulture. The Philadelphia Horticultural Society has partnered with numerous art institutions from around the country, such as the Barnes Foundation, the Brandywine River Museum, The Getty, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Smithsonian, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, among many others, to create a unique viewing experience that celebrates the beauty of both nature and artistic expression. Besides the art inspired floral exhibitions, some of the highlights of the show include a wine and spirit tasting, a butterfly exhibit, cooking demonstrations, design competitions, a make and take workshop, and a gardener's market. The show continues now through March 9th at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Tickets are available online or at the door.
