A discussion panel of cast and crew will follow the US premiere of Joss Whedon's "Much Ado About Nothing" at SXSW this March. According to SXSW, actors Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathan Fillion, Clark Gregg, and director Joss Whedon will take the stage immediately following the film's debut at the festival to "discuss the unconventional process of shooting the film in 12(!) days and the challenges and excitement of bringing Shakespeare to the screen for a modern audience."
Whedon's film is a contemporary spin on the classic Shakespeare comedy. It was filmed over the course of just twelve days with mostly friends and family at Whedon's Santa Monica home, just before post-production on "The Avengers." The cast is filled with Whedonverse regulars, including Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Clark Gregg, Nathan Fillion, Reed Diamond, Sean Maher, and Fran Kranz.
The film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival late last year, and was picked up by Lionsgate for distribution and a theatrical release (Lionsgate also distributed Whedon and Drew Goddard's "The Cabin in the Woods"). "Much Ado About Nothing" will appear in theaters nationwide on June 7th, 2013.
The annual SXSW Film Festival will take place this year in Austin, Texas from March 8-16. Visit SXSW online for a complete listing of showings and events.
