The second Friday of every month a free music concert is held on the 'Great Lawn' from 7-9 pm in Pompano Beach adjacent to the beach. Located at intersection of E. Atlantic Boulevard and Pompano Beach Boulevard. (If you're on Atlantic Boulevard you just take it east to the very end.) Even though there is street parking it would be difficult to find a spot as it's packed, but on the left side of the street (north side) of Atlantic is a paid metered parking lot where everyone parks when coming to the event. Bring lawn chairs or a spread to sit on. The grass is not real which makes it preferable because you won't have to worry about bugs or dirt. Don't forget to bring your doggies. Family and pet friendly event. People of all ages were having a good time, kids went up front and starting dancing and doing their thing, later many adults went up and started dancing too. A very enjoyable and pleasant event. People were bringing their own picnics to snack and drink and some even had a little table beside them to place their drinks and appetizers on as they watched the concert. As it started getting darker from the beginning hours of dusk the ambiance continued to go up. Near the ocean, among the palm trees, cushy atmosphere and seating, the moon with the stars and Venus in the sky and good music really makes it magical.
