"Teen Mom 3" has been officially canceled according to a tweet by cast member Alexandria Sekella on Dec. 7. The reality show definitely did not have the same ratings as "Teen Mom" and "Teen Mom 2" so the cancelation shouldn't come as a surprise to many fans. While some may be saddened by the news, MTV's decision was probably the best one for both the network and the girls.
Many people found "Teen Mom 3" to be boring. Of course nobody wants to see out of control moms getting fame and fortune, but honestly, it was the same stories, just different faces. The stories had been played to death and viewers have lost interest. They want to see something new and MTV couldn't have expected the franchise to go on forever. Jenelle Evans was one of the reality stars who brought in serious ratings but lately fans are even losing interest in her.
Alex, who was one of the most stable and responsible moms on the show tweeted,
"Yes no more teen mom 3. Guess we weren't enough of train wrecks for it to be interesting. America wants to watch crazies oh well #relieved"
With any television series, she is absolutely right. If there not enough drama or shock then viewers get bored and move on to something else. It shouldn't be that way and if it wasn't then maybe people wouldn't behave so irresponsibly to get attention. But it is like that and it doesn't look like that is going to change anytime soon.
The cancelation is probably the best thing for the girls, too. They deserve to live normal lives without the media in their face all the time and they won't go through the same critisism that the previous reality stars do simply because they haven't been on the franchise for as long as they have. While they may be upset about MTV's decision, it really is the best one for everyone involved.
What do you think about "Teen Mom 3" being canceled? Do you think it was the right decision?
