The cast of Teen Mom 3 announced over the weekend that the show had ended at that they would no longer be featured on MTV. However, MTV stayed mum on the report for days as speculation as to why the network canned the show circulated the web.
Then, on Monday, the network finally released a statement to The Ashley's Reality Roundup on December 9.
"MTV will not be moving forwarding with a second season of 'Teen Mom 3,'" the statement read. "We’re thankful to Briana, Katie, Mackenzie, Alex and their families for sharing their stories as they navigate young parenthood and for helping to have a positive impact on the importance of teen pregnancy prevention."
Unfortunately, MTV didn't disclose what exactly led them to make the decision, but thus far, several things have been reported including the ratings, Mackenzie's pregnancy, and the cast's lack of drama.
Teen Mom 3 debuted at near 2 million viewers, but as the weeks went on, many fans stopped watching and the show simply couldn't compete with other shows airing at the same time and didn't show any signs of a promising future.
Although fans may have seen the last of Teen Mom 3, they will soon be getting a treat when the original Teen Mom stars, Maci, Catelynn, Farrah, and Amber, return to MTV for a Where Are They Now? special.
