Mt. Rose ski resort offering events, discounted lift tickets through April 21 (Photos)

The ski season is beginning to wind down this month with some Lake Tahoe resorts shutting down its lifts this weekend.

But that’s not the case at Mt. Rose ski resort, which still has three more weekends to go. The closing date for the resort off Mt. Rose Highway is Sunday, April 21.

“Mt. Rose had a perfect 2012-13 ski season,” said Mt. Rose spokesperson Kayla Anderson. “The storms that came in early December helped us get the mountain 100 percent open by Christmas and we continued to have excellent snow conditions after the holidays.

“Our base elevation being at 8,260 feet ensured that we received all snow throughout the storms,” added Anderson. “Match that with Mt. Rose's proximity to Reno, slopeside parking, and great value on online lift tickets, lesson packages and kid’s camps, I think that people who came to Mt. Rose will definitely be back again.”

Here’s what’s scheduled at Mt. Rose.
