Mt. Calvary Baptist Church presents Mother's day concert

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church will present a Mother's Day Concert on May 10 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at The Mission. The Mission is located at 6391 Leisure Town Road in Vacaville, Calif. The concert will feature Edwin Hawkins, Byron Cage and special guest, Stellar Award nominee, Claybon Lea, Jr.

According to Wikipedia, Edwin Hawkins is a Grammy Award winning gospel and R & B musician, pianist, choir master, composer and arranger. He is accredited by Wikipedia to be one of the originators of the urban contemporary gospel sound. He is best known for his arrangement of the song Oh Happy Day which sold over one million copies within two months. It also became a international success selling more than seven million copies worldwide. He won his first Grammy for this song. Edwin Hawkins and the Edwin Hawkins singers are still active and remains a vital force in gospel music.

Byron Cage, according to Wikipedia, is a Stellar Award winning gospel singer whose album An Invitation to Worship which has the song Broken But I'm Healed peaked at number two on the United States Gospel charts in 2005. His latest album, Memoirs of a Worshiper, was released in 2012.

Claybon lea, Jr. is the well known distinguished senior pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield and Suisun City. He is also a musician, composer and arranger. His album It's About Time debuted in 2011 with such songs as I Have a Plan, Follower of Christ and Without You.
