Mt. Ararat and Bangor to meet in class A girls semifinal

Augusta, ME- Mallory Nason went 12-12 from the free throw line and scored 22 points to lead the Mt. Ararat Eagles girls basketball team to a 51-37 class A quarterfinal victory over the Oxford Hills Vikings at the Augusta Civic Center on Friday afternoon.

Olivia Swan scored 16 points including 12 in the second quarter for the Eagles. Caitlin LaFountain added eight points for Mt. Ararat.

Alex Rowe scored 17 points to lead the Vikings.

Mt. Ararat (16-3) will take on Bangor in a semifinal game on Wednesday, February 20th at 2:30 p.m.

The Sophomore due of Cordelia Stewart and Mary Butler combined for 33 points to lead Bangor (15-4) to a 61-48 victory over Skowhegan on Friday afternoon.

Stewart scored nine of her 17 points in the fourth quarter. Butler scored eight of her 16 points in the second quarter.

Freshman Sarah Bragg hit two 3-pointers and scored 16 points for the Rams.
