In an article posted Thursday at Time, MSNBC's Touré claimed that "crime" is racial code for a Republican party that wishes to "stay viable as an all-white party."
"Another classic code word — that hasn’t cropped up in this election yet — is 'crime,'" he claimed.
"Like welfare, even though more whites commit crimes than blacks, the word is more associated with blacks who have historically been stereotyped as wild, violent, animalistic and immoral," he added.
"The classic example is President George H. W. Bush’s famous ad using inmate Willie Horton as a way to portray Massachusetts governor Michael Dukakis as soft on crime and thus unable to protect us from wild black criminals," he wrote, apparently ignorant of the fact that Al Gore - a Democrat - first brought up the issue in the 1998 primary.
For some time, liberal pundits like Touré have told Americans that pretty much any word uttered by Republicans is racist.
In January, Juan Williams told America that "Constitution" and "founding fathers" could be seen as racial code language. After a GOP debate that month, Americans learned that calling Williams by his first name is racist.
More recently, liberal hosts at MSNBC told America that "Chicago" and "golf" are also racist.
Liberals went apoplectic after Clint Eastwood's RNC speech, and informed voters that "chair" is racist.
Touré spends much of his time at MSNBC telling Americans that everything Republicans say is racist, and recently caused controversy when he used a racist slur attacking Mitt Romney.
"Part of my job when I speak about politics is to speak up for black people and say things black people need said," he wrote at Time.
"This mission has rarely felt so necessary as it has when racial code words recently entered the Presidential election," he added.
But while Touré and his ilk use Orwellian "logic" to silence Republican speech, they remained utterly silent as GOP congressional candidate Mia Love was attacked with overtly racist language. Love, who is an African-American woman, currently serves as the mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah.
They also remained silent when Rep. Allen West (R-FL) was the target of an overtly racist ad by his Democratic opponent.
Networks like MSNBC, eager to perpetuate the myth of an all-white GOP, refused to cover convention speeches by a number of elected Republican minorities.
Commenters at the article were not impressed with his "analysis."
"Wow. I'd call you and your 'analysis' delusional, but you would probably add that to the code word list and call me racist, too," one person wrote.
"I haven't visited Time in quite a while but does it house this sort of drivel with frequency? I would consider this among the dumbest pieces I've ever read from an 'established' source. This author is clueless and - for the sake of honesty - should keep his tin foil hat on when taking the picture to accompany his opinion," said another.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the code-word for 'insipid race-baiting fool' is 'Toure'," commented another.
