MSM vs Obama vs Sarah Palin & Michele Bachmann - Fox News scrutiny

"First they called Sarah Palin a ditz, then they called Christine O'Donnell a witch, now the claws are already coming out against congresswoman Michele Bachmann," was the statement introducing the topic "Media's Double Standard" on Fox News Channel Sunday morning -  contrasting how the media treats Obama's gaffes vs those of conservative women.

Guest, Andrew Breitbart of BigGovernment.com, after watching clips of Michele Bachmann being skewered by George Stephanopoulos  on "Good Morning America"  pointed out, "What you just saw in President Obama, they call in tennis, 'unforced error.' What they try and do with Sarah Palin  and Michele Bachmann is to force errors. To ask 'Gotcha' questions. Life for them is a permanent game of  Jeopardy, where the George Stephanopoulos of the world, he of the Clinton  War Room, are there to try to make them look stupid on Youtube."

Under Fox scrutiny were  recent attacks against Michele Bachmann, leading with the GMA clip demonstrating an attempt to play what Sarah Palin calls "Gotcha!" journalism - pounding Bachmann on her knowledge of the Founding Fathers.

"The thing is, that Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann represent an existential threat  to the Democratic Party the way that, twenty years ago, Clarence Thomas, a black man, represented to liberals and the Democratic Party," opined  Breitbart Breitbart. He was speaking to whether it was true that conservative women were targeted by mainstream media and whether the left-wing could justify what many consider "attacks".

Following is a brief transcript of relevant comments from Breitbart:

The Democratic party likes to think of itself as a party of minorities.  When in the Republican party so many women , and attractive women, and accomplished women   rise to the top, it's going to take the media to destroy them. Because , at the end of the day, Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin - you can go by the polls, represent what the American people represent on the issues.

Mentioned earlier, Fox news ran a clip of just a few of the mistakes, the gaffes, that President Obama has made which included:

  • Speaking of the threat of Iran, "Iran, Cuba and Venezuela, these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union."
  • "I've now been in 57 states?"
  •  "I don't know what the term is in Austrian."
  • Mispronounced "corpsman"
  • Got his daughter, Malia's age, wrong
