Mr. Potato Head Pumpkin Decorating Kits are a family friendly and safe way for young children to decorate pumpkins. Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head fans and young kids alike will enjoy using the plastic pieces of each kit to make cute, funny pumpkins to display at Halloween without having to use sharp pumpkin carving tools or knives.

Mr. Potato Head Pumpkin Decorating Kits

Each of these Mr. Potato Head Kits for decorating a pumpkin comes with plastic pieces that can be stuck into a pumpkin the same way that the original Mr. Potato Head parts could be stuck into potatoes. Pumpkins do not come with the kits and the pieces are reusable year to year.

The Mr. Potato Head Pumpkin Decorating Kits are suitable for children ages 2 and up and retail for about $12 to $15. Parents may want to supervise younger children to make sure the smaller parts of each kit do not get eaten.

Mr. Potato Head Pumpkin Push In parts

Mr. Potato Head pumpkin characters include:

  • a Pirate Pumpkin, which comes with pirate accessory parts like earrings, an eyepatch, and a pirate hat.
  • a Witch Pumpkin, which comes with witch accessories like a cauldron, a nose with a wart, and a pointy witch's hat.
  • a Princess Pumpkin, which comes with pieces like jewelry and a tiara.
  • a Ninja Pumpkin, which comes with accessories like a face mask and a belt with a throwing star.
  • a Clown Pumpkin, which comes with silly blue hair and a bow tie.

For more creative fun, children could mix and match the parts of each kit to make silly faces, or craft additional pieces out of Play-doh or clay.

Some older sets of Mr. Potato Head Halloween Pumpkin Decoration Kits were recalled by the CPSC for containing small parts that could choke children under 3. Avoid the Mr. Potato Head "Make a Monster Pumpkin" and "Make a Fireman Pumpkin" or the Mrs. Potato Head "Make a Diva Pumpkin" sets.
