The first full-length trailer for the upcoming animated feature Mr. Peabody & Sherman has arrived today. Originally slated for a release on November 1, the film was pushed back four months into what distributor Dreamworks believes to be a much more profitable time for release. If the trailer is any indication, they may have another hit on their hands.
Loosely based on the classic cartoons, the film follows Mr. Peabody, the world’s smartest canine, and his companion Sherman (voiced here by Ty Burrell and Max Charles, respectively) as they are forced to travel through time and fix a time-travel paradox Sherman accidentally caused while trying to impress a girl. This is certainly not the cartoon your father grew up with, but hopefully fans of the original series will not be put off by the retrofit.
Mr. Peabody & Sherman will open in D.C. for a wide release on March 7 of next year. Expect it to open at local AMC and Regal cinemas. The film features the voice talents of Burrell, Charles, Ariel Winter, Leslie Mann, Stephen Colbert, Allison Janney, Patrick Warburton, Stanley Tucci and Mel Brooks.
