Mozart and Mozartkugel Tasting at Dallmann Fine Chocolates-Del Mar Jan. 26

In celebration of Mozart's birthday, Dallmann Fine Chocolates will be offering a very special tasting featuring Austrian wines which will be paired with artisan truffles, including the famous Mozartkugel named after Mozart. Selections from the famous composer will be played during the event for your listening pleasure.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a child prodigy, an Austrian composer, keyboard player, violinist, violist and conductor. He is regarded by many as the world's greatest natural musical genius. By the time of his death at age 35, he had produced more than 600 works including symphonies, operas, concertos, quartets, cantatas; almost all of them of the most astonishing quality.

The Mozartkugel was created in 1890 in Salzburg by Paul Fürst and named after the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It consists of a fine blend of hazelnut nougat and pistachio marzipan encoded with bittersweet couverture. The confectionery Dallmann, produces Mozartkugel by hand according to Fürst’s original recipe. Like those produced by the confectionery Fürst, they are wrapped in silver tin foil marked with blue print. As the Fürst confectionery does not own a trademark for Mozartkugeln, there are numerous imitation products.
