HBO's lineup of theatrical films in September includes the debuts of Wanted The Secret Life of Bees, Hellboy II: The Golden Army and Madagascar Escape 2 Africa. Following are brief descriptions of the movies and their HBO playdates for September, 2009.
Wanted: After his father is murdered, a seemingly average young man joins a secret society, and plots to avenge his death. The Secret Life of Bees: A 14-year-old girl who has lost her mother tries to escape her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father by fleeing to a South Carolina town that holds the secret to her mother’s past. Set in 1964, the touching film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name, and stars Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys and Sophie Okonedo. Hellboy II: The Golden Army: When a ruthless leader breaks an ancient truce, Hellboy and his team must save the world from mythical creatures who seek to destroy mankind.
