Just a little more and you're off to the movies!
The economy may be in bad shape, but one business that hasn’t been hurt by it is the movie business. In fact, Hollywood is having one of their best years to date. It has been surmised that people just need some form of escape in these trying times and people are going to the movies for that escape. Still, paying almost ten dollars for an adult ticket can hurt one’s wallet. Here are some venues that can save you cash!
The Lake Worth Drive-In is only $6.00 per-person and only $2.00 for children. It is certainly a different way for a family to see a film. Feel free to bring along some lounge chairs and turn your radio up to hear the film as the movies are broadcast over the airways. To reach the theater get on the Florida Turnpike and take exit 93 Fl-802/Lake Worth Road and head east. The movie theater is a few miles down the road on your right, shortly after you cross Military Trail.
The drive-in is certainly a fun way to see a movie, but some people may feel more comfortable seeing a movie in a traditional movie theater. For those people they can travel to the Movies of Lake Worth. All the movies are $5.00 before 5:00pm, and just $7.00 afterwards. The theater offers some independent films, but plenty of first-run movies like “Inglorious Basterds” and the brand new release, Mike Judge’s “Extract”. The directions are similar to the drive-in except the movie theater is only a half-mile east of the turnpike in the Market Place Shopping Center.
For those who don’t want to worry about any independent movies occupying a screen, and don’t mind paying a little more, but less than normal, then head on over to the Phoenix Theaters Lake Worth 8 in Greenacres. The theater offers nothing but first run movies including the new release from Lionsgate, “Gamer”. Adult ticket prices are $9.00 for adults, $6.00 for children, $6.50 for seniors and $6.50 for matinee shows. Once again take the Florida turnpike to exit 93 and head east. Make a U-Turn on S. 57th Avenue. The movie theater, whose address number is 5881, is on the right.
All these theaters can be reached from I-95 as well by getting off the Lake Worth exit and heading west instead of east. The extra money that is saved by going to these theaters can go to getting that extra large popcorn!
