Movie Review: Silver Linings Playbook (Photos)

Silver Linings Playbook directed by David O. Russell, features Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Nero, and Jackie Weaver are cast as a dysfunctional family dealing with a family member with bipolar issues.

A quirky movie about a man and a woman who have significant mental health issues that live with their parents in the same neighborhood. They become connected after Tiffany's sister invites Pat Solitano to dinner. Tiffany becomes asphyxiated on Solitano during his initial efforts to reject her to pursue his estranged wife who previously filed a restraining order against him.

Tiffany stalks and manipulates Solitano to force him to spend time with her the promise that she will fulfill his requests to communicate with his wife if he will enter a ballroom dance contest.

Solitano's father is a bookie who becomes convinced that Tiffany is bad luck and is the reason for his Philadelphia Eagles losses.

The interesting thing about this movie is that it gives an insight to the complications families face with family members who suffer from psychotic episodes.

Jennifer Lawrence plays the part of Tiffany a twisted manipulative widow. She is very convincing in her relentless and often exhausting efforts to gain attention from her co-star.
