Movie review: Fantastic Mr. Fox

Like Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, "Fantastic Mr. Fox" does a remarkable job of making a children's film oriented to both young ones and adults. However, Wes Anderson's latest and greatest project seemed to be aimed a bit more toward the art scene in this stop-motion feature. This isn't necessarily a bad thing by all means, but it is more of a postmodern children's film.

As far as the Roald Dahl film adaptation itself, it is gorgeous. Think of "Fantastic" as Wallace and Gromit meets the kid-friendly version of The Royal Tenenbaums. George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Juman Malouf, Adrien Brody (in a bit part as the "Mouse"), and so on did a remarkable job with the voices. I highly recommend this if you are looking to see a refreshing movie, but be mindful that little ones may not get the humor since it is rather dry.
