Movie funny man Rob Schneider finally makes his way onto TV with an all-new sitcom. The show follows Rob as a former life-long bachelor who marries into a close-knit Mexican –American family. The show is loosely based on some of his real-life experiences after his recent marriage to Mexican television producer Patricia Azarcoya.
The show has promise with the subject matter and Schneider’s great comedic timing, but adds to the mix legendary comedy actor Cheech Marin as his new father in law; this show has the recipe for success. This all depends on how much control Schneider has. Could his first attempt at a sitcom since 1996 be the one that shoots him into sitcom stardom or will we be begging for him to return to his film roles that we all know and love.
If anyone can make it work, Schneider can, but only time will tell if the audience goes along for the ride.
Rob! premieres this Thursday January 12th on CBS.
