Mountain View Garage of Thornton, Colo., announced March 15, 2011 that it has launched its “MVG Smoothin’ the Way” program of free oil change services for anyone whose vehicle has handicapped plates. And it could be worth $2,600 to some local charity.
The program is just the beginning of a series of announcements that MVG Owner Sean Forest plans to make regarding MVG’s support of the community and ongoing salute to his loyal customers.
“We want to offer this small gesture to those customers who are dealing with continuous challenges,” Forest said. “We want to let them know they have people who care; and if we can make their lives just a little easier, everybody at Mountain View Garage will gain some satisfaction from it.”
The “Smoothin’ the Way” program is open to all current and new customers, and they can participate up to four times a year. Mountain View Garage only asks customers to bring the appropriate amount of oil with a correct oil filter at time of check-in, and MVG will do the rest at no charge. The program is scheduled to run indefinitely, and vehicles will be accepted by appointment.
“Our goal is to do 260 free oil changes over the next 12 months – an average of one a day for every day that we are open,” Forest said; “so we might have to reach into neighboring communities.”
Forest said if MVG can reach its goal, it will donate $2,600 ($10 for every oil change) to the charity of one customer’s choice. That customer will be chosen from the general list of people who brought cars in for oil changes over the course of the year.
