Mountain Jam 2012 Announces Lineup

The eighth-annual Mountain Jam Festival, presented by radio station WDST, announced its initial lineup today. The four-day music and arts festival takes place at Hunter Mountain, in Hunter, NY from Thursday, May 31, to Sunday, June 3, 2012.

This year, Steve Winwood and Gov’t Mule are headlining the event, which also features popular performers Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Roots, Ben Folds Five, The Word (with Robert Randolph, John Medeski, and the North Mississippi Allstars), Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and others.

Veteran acts Dawes, Zach Deputy, and Mariachi El Bronx are welcomed back again, while newcomers Carolina Chocolate Drops and Gary Clarke Jr. (who wowed the audience at Woodstock’s Bearsville Theater with a free show last year) take the Mountain Jam stage for the first time.

Local acts Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds and Connor Kennedy Band are bound to keep the Upstate crowd grooving.
