How about Some Soda with Your Cereal? Mountain Dew Rolls Out Juice-Like Breakfast Drink. PepsiCo will soon be offering Kickstart to round out your breakfast. This new Mountain Dew-flavored drink is loaded with caffeine, 5% real fruit juice and Vitamins B and C.
Mountain Dew representative Elisa Baker has told the Los Angeles Times that many of their customers were looking for an alternative to traditional morning beverages, such as coffee and tea. After doing extensive research into the possibilities, the firm apparently found that a lot of people want to drink soda in the morning. Baker has said, “Kickstart combines the best of all worlds — it tastes great, has just the right amount of real fruit juice and gives them a kick to help them start their day."
Ray Goldbacher has also reported on Kickstart for USA Today, Mountain Dew wants to Kickstart your breakfast. PepsiCo on has announced it is rolling out "a new way to do mornings" with Kickstart, which is a fruit-flavored Mountain Dew beverage. Greg Lyons, Mountain Dew's vice president of marketing, has said, "Our consumers told us they are looking for an alternative to traditional morning beverages – one that tastes great, includes real fruit juice and has just the right amount of kick to help them start their days." The combo of Mountain Dew and fruit juice is anticipated to be available in Orange Citrus and Fruit Punch flavors starting Feb. 25, 2013.
