Mountain Dew breakfast products could be all the rage now. Mountain Dew is introducing Kickstart, a way to start out your day apparently. According to a report from Monday (Feb. 11), the new drink is supposed to offer some of those breakfast nutrients while providing a kick to the start of the day.
The new drink that PepsiCo Inc is releasing will have 5 percent juice, Vitamins B and C, and that typical jolt of caffeine that comes with the Dew products. While the claim is that this is not an energy drink, it really seems like they are trying to cater to the same crowd that relies on those products.
Some of the flavors that will be available are "energizing orange citrus" and "energizing fruit punch," which again makes this sound like an energy drink. Even the television advertising that is being rolled out seems to want to convey the image that you will definitely gain energy to do all sorts of things from this product.
Whether this becomes a product that people drinking juice or coffee will turn to is questionable, but for those consumers already drinking Mountain Dew this seems like an easy step to take. If the company sells Kickstart at a higher price point, it could end up making the company a lot of money.
Expect the Mountain Dew breakfast drinks to hit stores before the end of February.
