Mount Vernon Police execute search warrant and find gun and drugs

Mount Vernon police executed a search warrant at 43 North Bleeker St. and found a .380-caliber handgun, heroin and crack cocaine late afternoon on Feb. 21.

The resident, Mount Vernon man Anthony McLean, was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, said Mount Vernon police.

McLean’s arrest history dates back to 2001. Since then, he has been arrested seven times, five of which were felonies, said Mount Vernon police. He was also convicted of two violent felonies and a misdemeanor.
