Mount Vernon man chokes girlfriend, girlfriend also arrested

A 30-year-old Mount Vernon man was arrested by police early morning on Feb. 24 after chocking his 34-year-old girlfriend in their East Third Street residence.

She was able to free herself from his chokehold by hitting him in the head with a clothes iron, but that only enraged David Henry more, Mount Vernon Police said.

He continued to choke her until she began to lose consciousness, police said. That’s when she grabbed a knife and stabbed Henry in the arm.

Henry was treated for his injuries, then arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing.

There was also a warrant for the victim’s arrest from the White Plains and was turned over to the White Plains Police Department.
