Mount Mary College Welcomes New Members to Corporate Board

MILWAUKEE (July 29, 2010) – Three new members have joined Mount Mary College’s Corporate Board, President Eileen Schwalbach announced. The Corporate Board has oversight of Mount Mary’s Board of Trustees including responsibility for governance matters, financial decisions and institutional leadership. Board members each serve a three-year term.

The new members are:

Sister Sara Jean Donegan, SSND – A professed member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame since 1957, S. Donegan has a bachelor's degree in mathematics and minors in chemistry and English from Mount Mary College. She has a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette University and an Master of Science and certificate in prosthodontics from Marquette University School of Dentistry. She currently practices as a dentist and instructor in Marquette University's Dental School.

Sister Carole Shinnick, SSND – A professed member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame since 1962, S. Shinnick has a bachelor's degree in English from College of the Sacred Heart, Puerto Rico and a Master of Arts in American Studies from Fairfield University. She also has a Master of Social Work in Clinical Social Work from Saint Louis University. S. Carole coordinates Emmaus Leadership Services in Silver Spring, MD, a program providing ongoing formation opportunities to leaders of women religious.

Sister Ann Scholz, SSND – A professed member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame since 1972, S. Scholz holds a bachelor's degree in history from Notre Dame College in St. Louis, and a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in International Education from the American University in Washington, D.C. A SSND representative to the United Nations (UN), she has testified regarding the right to education and its importance to social transformation. She has also authored numerous statements to various UN Commissions on issues including the right to education, gender equality, and the human rights of girls.
