From one of the oldest rum producers in the world comes one of the finest rare aged rums ever bottled, Mount Gay 1703 Old Cask Selection.

Mount Gay 1703 Old Cask Selection
rare aged rum from Barbados.
Blended entirely from the treasures of Mount Gay’s prized reserve, each aged for 10 to 30 years, the rare 1703 is a masterpiece of perfect sumptuousness, a deliciously complex nectar created by artisans and rum masters with centuries of skill and expertise.
The striking rich copper hues of this heavy-bodied spirit are the first signs of it's exclusive and rare qualities. The nose sugests the complexity of fine cognac. The taste presents a deep, rich bouquet of oak, toffee and leather, seamlessly intertwined with mellow notes of ripe banana, candied fruits and soft spices, melting slowly into a smooth, lingering finish.
The suggested retail price in the United States is about $100.
This rum demands to be appreciated in a proper tulip-shaped tasting glass or a brandy snifter. A small taste of this concentrated elixir delivers big flavor. A touch of fine water or a single small ice cube can reveal additional notes of spice and sweetness on the palette.
The Mount Gay rums are produced by Mount Gay Distilleries Ltd of Barbados, which began distilling rum in 1703, making it one of the first documented brands in the world.

How does this compare to Pyrat Cask?
It's not easy to compare two rums that are so fundamentally different, made in different countries, using different methods, different aging techniques, etc. Pyrat is sweeter and has a prominent citrus flavor while Mount Gay 1703 is more complex, more woody, more whiskey-like notes.
