Motown Legend Diana Ross will perform at Four Winds New Buffalo’s Silver Creek Event Center on Friday, May 2, at 9 p.m. Eastern. Originally from Detroit, Ross will return to her home state to entertain her fans by performing her greatest hits. Ross is one of the most iconic female singers of all time and has had 12 number one singles throughout her career as the lead singer of The Supremes and as a solo artist. Ross burst onto the national stage in the 1960s with Motown super group The Supremes, which bridged the worlds of pop and soul. Along with Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Ross has received numerous accolades during her solo career as well, including a special Tony Award in 1977 for her one woman show “An Evening with Diana Ross,” Kennedy Center Honors in 2007, and a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 2012.
She was also nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of Billie Holliday in 1972’s “Lady Sings the Blues” and is one of the few recording artists to have two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one as a solo artist and another as a member of The Supremes.
