Motorola Moto X Cyber Monday deal relaunches December 4, $349 off contract price

Motorola will relaunch its Moto X Cyber Monday deal this week as a result of technical difficulties with the MotoMaker online Moto X customization tool. The site crashed as customers bombarded their servers to take advantage of the no contract $150 discount on the Moto X phone. Customers will be able to buy a customized 16GB or 32GB Moto X starting at $349, off contract. MotoMaker is now open for all four major US carriers, which includes AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.

Motorola issued an apology for the Web issues that some customers encountered on Monday (Dec. 2) and will offer its Cyber Monday deal on Wednesday, December 4 to make up for it. Many customers became frustrated when the MotoMaker website crashed and they were unable to place their orders. “I want to apologize to our customers and fans for the issues we experienced on our website with our Cyber Monday promotion. I want you to understand what happened, and what we are doing to rectify the situation,” Motorola CEO, Dennis Woodside said Monday.

To sweeten the deal and meet consumer demand, Motorola is doubling its Moto X inventory and will offer the $349 off contract price deal for a second time on Monday, December 9. “Starting at 12 pm EST/9 am PST this Wednesday, we will relaunch the $349 promotion. To help make up for this major inconvenience to shoppers, we will also add an additional promotional day on Monday, December 9,” Woodside said.

The official Motorola Twitter account confirmed that the promotional deal is for the Moto X MotoMaker version only and not the Moto X Developer Edition.
