Most of you in San Francisco are probably sound asleep or just getting ready for bed, meaning, you mind is very far from your smartphone at the moment. If you own a Motorola Droid X though, that should not be your mindset right now.
Why?
The Android 2.2 update is rolling out, this moment, that’s why.
Yes, San Francisco, Verizon has officially begun rolling out the Froyo update for the Droid X. So, if you’re awake right now, and you own a Droid X, you might want to check your device before you hit the hay tonight.
As a reminder, the highlights include Flash 10.1 support, easy switching between previous 8 applications, enhanced browser performance with pages heavy on Java, 270 degree screen rotation, Exchange fixes, and a ton more.

Unfortunately, it won’t fix the volume issues so be aware of that. Motorola has promised to fix that in a future update.
Hopefully it comes sooner than later.
So, now that it’s rolling out, has anyone got the update yet and if so, how is it running? If you don’t see it, remember, OTA updates roll out randomly so your neighbor might get it before you do.

got it here in san diego. having some issues with it.
Installed. Runs great.
updated six am on the east coast. The flash is a geat thing, but the gallery locks up every other use, twice as much stuff runs in the background, even fabricating itself after you force it to close, and my droid x just gets slower and slower. The video quality has for some reason gone from great to maybe okay, although the sound quality is better. This update is still nice with the hope that a patch for some of the bugs is in the works.
