Motorola Droid unveiled in impressive fashion

The Motorola Droid, in all of its glory, looks pretty good, right?
Boy Genius Report

Have you seen that ‘iDon’t’ commercial that is blatantly aimed at Apple? If you haven’t,check it out, pretty nifty. If you have and you were wondering what ‘Droid’ was all about, well, it was unveiled today in a hands-on by BGR.

It looks like it could be a winner.

Here is a portion of the information that has been gathered thus far. The phone is running Android 2.0, which was unveiled a few days ago itself and looked fantastic. It’s only a little bit thicker than the iPhone 3GS, and according to these guys it’s the thinnest QWERTY-slide device ever.

It boasts a TI OMAP3430 processor which makes it the fastest Android phone ever. It ships with a desktop charger style docking /cradle device that allows for the phone to turn into a multimedia device with a few other options like weather and time. The screen is gigantic and capacitive. The QWERTY keyboard isn’t finalized yet, but it also looks impressive and usable.

The actual design of the Android also appears to be fantastic, very sturdy because it’s made of metal. They are also saying that Google had a direct hand in making this phone so you probably can expect something awesome.

It’s a little early to call this a viable competitor to the iPhone 3GS, but Motorola appears to be back in business and competition certainly is never a bad thing, is it?
