They were a bit sloppy, with occasional mishaps, but five motorcycles thieves were successful on April 17 in breaking into a Boyertown, PA, dealership and making off with gear and four motorcycles worth a total of around $60,000.
The bold, after-hours rip-off was captured on videotape showing how they backed a van up to the front doors, smashed through the doors of Martin Motorsports, and then wheeled the bikes out and into the van. Along the way they struggle at times to roll the bikes up their ramp and at one point the ramp drops away underneath them.
The motorcycles were all sportbikes, two Suzukis and two Yamahas; otherwise they never could have gotten as many bikes in one van. No arrests have been made in the break-in.
The video, at left, provides a fascinating glimpse of the thieves in action.
