Part XI Coyote Ugly
We were greeted by Shawna, our bartender who was wearing a sexy black and pink lace lined bra and hot, tight black trousers resting low on her hips and set off by a large silver belt buckle. She promptly requested our drink order, “two Michelob Ultras and a Coors light please.” The bar wasn’t at all crowded and when she delivered the beers, she struck up a conversation with us. We found out that she was a student at the University of Memphis and was studying law and finance; a smart kid I thought. She said she liked working at Coyotes because it was good money and a lot of fun. A great atmosphere and great conversation made the beer go down smoothly and quickly. Three or four more and we were feeling quite good. We became more and more loud and more and more friendly and introduced ourselves to our fellow partyers. There were the lesbian couple and the couple from way down south in Louisiana. We likened the gentleman to the actor in the movie “The Waterboy”. His speech sounded much like “iiiiiff youn’s cum down de bayou, u cum see us.” We nicknamed him “AbeeDabee”.

It was getting dark outside and the party was rolling on. Shawn asked for a few volunteers and John’s hand went up. Here was the game and how it was going to be played. She gave each of the three volunteers a fresh beer and a shot glass. Three bar stools were lined up about 20 feet away. The instructions were “when I say go, fill your shot glass up with the beer, drink it, turn around and run to the bar stool. Put your forehead on the bar stool and spin around three times. Return to the bar and pour another shot of beer. Drink the shot and repeat. The first one to finish the beer, one shot at a time is the winner.” Imagine you’re drunk, running, spinning around on the barstool and still drinking at a high rate of speed. John, I must say, did very well since he not only stayed upright, but he won the game. And best of all, the prize, a shot of alcohol – his choice. With a little goading, he chose “a friend of mine”, Jose Cuervo.

The shot done, I started talking about dancing on the bar, and Shawna said “no problem”, come on up. Not at all shy, I climbed up on the bar and danced to my enjoyment and the amusement of others. It was readily discovered that they were serious about their no touching rules here; anyone not on the bar dancing, was not allowed to touch those on the bar the bar back informed us. Next I danced with the couple at the end of the bar, and then with the down South Louisiana Mama. I danced on the bar until I got tired of dancing.

Then a new bartender came on duty, and before Shawna left, she did belly shots with her, and then belly shots with John. It was getting wild, and time for us to move on to the next bar and get something to eat. Shawna autographed on Ric and John’s tee-shirts, “Coyote Ugly Loves Bikers – heart – Shawna” and we said goodbye, hugging like we were old friends and promising to return later. We asked for suggestions on places to eat and decided on BB King’s famous Blues and BBQ restaurant.
