We rented a Harley Electra Glide from EagleRider while in British Columbia and paid a base rate of $199 per day. That's a lot of money. Think how much it would cost if you wanted a bike for a week. Yes, EagleRider does offer discounted weekly rates but you're still talking serious cash.
On the other hand, if you can be flexible you can rent a bike for a whole lot less. EagleRider has offices all over the country and they allow one-way rentals. And sometimes, I suppose, they have a customer who wants a particular bike in a particular location on a particular date. That's where the opportunities arise. You don't have a choice of the bike or the dates or the pick-up/drop-off points, but if what they need works for you, you're set!
Rather than paying $199 a day, how would you like to take a ride from San Francisco to Kamloops or Vancouver in British Columbia, or Seattle? Take as many days as you want with the only requirement that you leave between Oct. 2 and Oct. 8. Cost: $75 per day.
Or how about $69 per day to take a Fat Boy, a Heritage Softail Classic, or a V-Rod from Las Vegas to Newport Beach, CA? You'd need to pick this one up in Las Vegas on Sept. 14.
Feel like an October ride from Boston to Florida? Pay $69 a day and you can pick up and drop off on your schedule, as long as both are in October. Plus, it's your choice of where to drop in Florida. Any office will do. And heck, if you want to run your route via Chicago or Denver or even Los Angeles, that's cool. Just get the bike where it's going by the time it needs to get there.
Obviously, these are one-off deals. What is available today may not be available tomorrow, although presumably there will be deals available tomorrow that are not available today.
The place to check is on their Hot Deals page. Who knows, you could end up with a great trip and not even break the bank.
