Now the new Motorola Moto X comes to AT&T on August 23 and AT&T customers will be some of the first users to try the new Motorola Skip feature.
The Motorola Moto X is the first smartphone that can be completely designed by the customer.
The phone is also assembled here in the USA.
Current and new AT&T customers can customize their Moto X at AT&T stores, or online at www.att.com/MotoX. Go online or visit you nearest AT&T store to see all the color samples in person. The usual white and woven black models are also available.
Prices are about what you would expect. The 16 GB Moto X model is $199.99 and the 32 GB Moto X will be $249.99 with the standard two-year agreement.
“We’re excited to be the first carrier to offer you a chance to design a smartphone that’s truly yours,” offers up Jeff Bradley, senior vice president – Devices, AT&T. “We’ve worked closely with Motorola to create a tailored display, sales, and distribution processes to get these customized devices into your hands quickly so you can start enjoying all Moto X has to offer, all on the nation’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network.”
Interested customers can go to www.att.com/MotoX to design their own Moto X.
Per AT&T, here are the choices you need to make when designing your Moto X:
Color options for the front and back
Accent colors for the power key, volume key and camera ring
Add your name or short message on the back of the phone
See all the unique wallpapers
Custom power-on message
What capacity do you want – 16GB or 32GB
When you have completed designing your custom Moto X, it will be assembled in the USA and shipped to your address for free in four days or less.
The Moto X runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), and features a 4.7-inch HD display
A little more on the Motorola Skip.
Unlock your phone with a single tap.
The Skip is a small clip you can wear on a shirt, shirt hem, belt, or wherever you want. Also, you get Skip dots, which work just like Skip but as stickers. Keep them where you need them. They are ready when you are. Right now, Motorola Skip will be included for free in all Moto Maker orders.
Give the Moto X a look. This could be the right phone for you, at a time when it's critical to pick the right phone for your changing needs.
