What do you get when you mix "The world is a vampire," and "He's the wolf screaming lonely in the night?" You get one part Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan, and one part, Motley Crue's, Tommy Lee, collaborating. According to the Smashing Pumpkins website, Lee will play on one of two SP albums set for release in 2015; the Pumpkins write that Lee will drum on all 9 songs of "Monuments to an Elegy."

When you look at the photo of Corgan and Lee in the studio posted on the Pumpkins website, it strikes a bit odd at first, as if the dark one and the bad boy might clash. But it seems the old melancholy Corgan is behind him and he's ready to rock out heavy metal style.

Billy Corgan, also in motion to release AEGEA, an "experimental" record that consists of recordings Corgan made in 2007. Corgan has been hosting performances at his suburban Chicago tea shop, Madame ZuZu's. The record will be released strictly on vinyl and limited quantities, available via online purchase and at Madame ZuZu's while supplies last.

Corgan has described the sound for upcoming albums, "Monuments to an Elegy," and its companion, "Day for Night," saying, "Think: guitars, guitars, guitars, and more guitars." A guitar-heavy and perhaps monster drumming record is sure to be one powerful and epic union.
