Motley Crue will disband permanently after one more album and tour.
According to a backstage interview with band bassist Nikki Sixx posted today at themusic.com.au, the veteran Los Angeles bad boys, who will tour Canada this spring, will finish up a movie project, studio album and then head out on a farewell tour.
Sixx claims the 80's rockers will complete work on a movie based on their biography, “The Dirt: Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band” along with a soundtrack for the film and one final album before heading out on a “farewell tour.”
The 54-year-old musician maintains that the split after the tour will be permanent, saying, "It's important that when you do a farewell tour that people understand that when you put a bullet in the back of the horse's head, and it goes down, it's not a plastic bullet it's a f**king shotgun blast. You know, blow its f**king brains out, it's never coming back.”
He adds, "It's the only way I can look at myself in the mirror and do a farewell tour.”
The “Dr. Feelgood” hitmakers have undergone various bandmember changes in their turbulent past before reforming the original line-up for their Carnival Of Sins reunion tour in December 2004.
Motley Crue is currently on tour with Kiss in Australia and recently announced several new U.S. dates, kicking off on May 16 in Bangor, Maine at Bangor Waterfront.
Their 18-city Canadian leg kicks off on April 20 in Penticton, BC at South Okanagan Events Centre and winds up on May 14 in Ottawa, ON at Scotiabank Place.
