Motley Crue drummer bows out of band meet and greets in Canada

Motley Crue fans will be disappointed to learn that drummer Tommy Lee will not be participating in the L.A. rockers’ VIP backstage meet and greets during their upcoming tour of Canada.

According to an article posted today at ClassicRockMagazine.com, the veteran rock badboy has refused meet and greet participation during the “Dr Feelgood” hitmakers’ current tour of Australia and Canada due to “certain given circumstances.”

Lee’s post on the band’s Facebook page hints that high VIP ticket costs may have played a factor in his decision

He writes, “For those of you that are asking why I am not doing anymore meet and greets!!” It’s got nothing to do with me not wanting to meet the fans, I just don’t agree with doing it under the certain given circumstances. I love u all and I’ll gladly high five y’all if I see u out n about – and u won’t have to pay me for that.”

For the upcoming Canadian tour dates, “Kickstart My Heart” Diamond Meet and Greet VIP package, which offers a chance to meet and have a photo op with Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Vince Neil, are currently priced at $999.00 on Ticketmaster’s website.

Fan reaction to Lee's decision has been mixed.

Motley Crue is currently on tour with Kiss in Australia and recently announced an 18-city spring tour of Canada.

The Canadian leg kicks off on April 20 in Penticton, BC at South Okanagan Events Centre and winds up on May 14 in Ottawa, ON at Scotiabank Place.

See Motley Crue’s official website for more details.

Did you know? Tommy Lee was recently slapped with a lawsuit for allegedly assaulting a photographer last summer when he attempted to take pictures of the musician at a Florida public beach.
