Oh yeah, we have it all figured out. Aliens? No agreement from the PTB. Ghosts? There’s no such thing. Vampires and zombies? Hollywood. Monsters? Preposterous. We’re so sure we know what reality is made of because we were told it was a certain way and we never investigated things for ourselves. We have an inkling that not everything is as it seems and bizarre events occur, but we have a tendency to ignore anything we don’t understand.
For instance, Mothman; a seven-foot-tall, winged creature with glowing red eyes. In November of 1966, residents of Point Pleasant, West Virginia began to report sightings of a strange flying creature that had a wing span of around 10 ft. and could fly alongside a moving vehicle at 100mph.
But an entity that could keep pace with a speeding car, move from one place to another with incredible speed and then disappear was not considered the strangest thing going on at the time. Massive UFO sightings were being reported to the usual “deaf ears.” In addition, strange MIB (Men in Black) were roaming the community asking questions only they were not in black suits but wore similar clothing and all had brown hair and seemed to exhibit weird behavior.
Around the same time, the town experienced a cataclysmic catastrophe as the Silver Bridge in the heart of town collapsed killing 46 people. Some eye witnesses say they saw the Mothman hovering around the bridge just before the collapse. It was even suggested that it might have something to do with the collapse.
One eye-witness lamented, “Thing is, I know I’ll never forget it. I don’t think anyone can who has seen it.” And the question remains, was the Mothman terrestrial, extraterrestrial or interdimensional?
This is not the first time Mothman had been sighted: 1877 in Brooklyn, NY; 1915-17 in Portugal; 1922 in Nebraska; 1952 in Flatwoods, W.Va.; 1960 in Morristown, NJ and in Kent, England in 1963. Mothman may even date back to prehistoric cave paintings.
But that’s not the end of the story. In 2012, residents of Wisconsin were frightened out of their wits when a moth-like creature flew beside and in front of their moving vehicle (See video)
This is just one more incident that points to the mysterious complexities of life on the planet that continue to emerge, stretching the limits of what we are willing to accept.
