Adding to the historic landscape delight of Bartram, Patriot Harbor Lines begin this seasonal cruise option making for a very special Mother's Day treat to offer.

Historically refreshing

Bartram’s Garden is an historic landmark and inspiration for gardeners whether novice or expert. Established by the man regarded as America’s first botanist, John Bartram, this landscape is naturally and historically important. That it is located on the banks of the Schuylkill River only adds to the beauty of this 45 acre park. But to add some historic charm, the cruise accomplishes by offering the boat tour via a reproduction of a classic 1920s mini commuter yacht. Patriot Harbor Lines leave the Walnut Street Dock at noon and include a two hour stop at Bartram’s Garden. Mother's Day may be the first option for this cruise, it will be available on weekends through November.
Whether or not the historic cruise approach is chosen, Bartram’s Garden will delight. That Mother’s Day falls in May only encourages a visit to these legendary gardens and landscape. The planning and shaping of each of the gardens are underway and blooms have just begun to show and dazzle. Butterflies twirl around their favorite flowers and the pathways to the tallest trees seem to come alive in front of you. Plan to make it a leisurely stroll or schedule a guided walk to learn and explore. Bartram’s Garden is more than a garden to see and smell. It is a place to discover new plants, trees, flowers and processes. Don’t forget to stop in the Welcome Center for some local wildflower honey or other souvenirs for her this Mother's Day.
