Free parking, bathroom facilities, and lifeguards are a few of the reasons why this spot is a favorite with families. The playground is right at the beach's edge, where children are busy climbing, swinging, sliding, and building impressive sand castles in the sand. On any given day, there are family's making memories, of those precious Maine summer beach excursions. Mother's Beach does not disappoint the young, or the young at heart.

Mother's Beach can be found by following Rt 9 in Kennebunk. Turn onto Sea Road, then onto Beach Avenue. There are free parking spots on Beach Avenue, adjacent to the beach. Other beach goers might also enjoy the walkway, or discovering sea treasure on the rock ledges which are exposed at low tide. Leashed and unleashed dogs are allowed on the beach before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. during summer months, with owners responsible for picking up after their pets. Just a few minutes away, following Sea Road back across Rt 9, you and your dog can discover the clean, well maintained and very popular Kennebunk Dog Park.
