Mother restrains screaming toddler while he is tattooed (Photos)

On Jan. 28 Radar Online posted a YouTube video from Havana, Cuba of a mother holding down her toddler, assumed to be approximately three years old, while a tattoo artist gives him a real tattoo on his arm. Be advised- the attached photos of the incident are very hard to see. The Radar Online link also includes the video that the mother or the person sitting in the chair watching this happen posted.

The mother restrains her child to her chest while pinning his arm down as the child screams in pain. As the child screams and struggles to get away, the mother keeps saying, "Mire, Mire," (Spanish for "look") as loud techno music plays in the background. Neither the boy nor the mother have been identified.

The tattoo was a small one, and the tattooist doesn't seem to have any sort of issue tattooing a screaming, wiggling child. Never was it taken into account that if the skin would have torn during the tattoo that it could have become septic and gotten infected.

There is no law in Cuba about tattooing underage minors. In this case, the cruelty inflicted upon the child was done by his own mother. There is no word if any sort of abuse charges will be filed against the mother if she can be identified.

As a parent, this is horrifying to watch and know that the mother was the one that put her own child in such a painful situation. In most cases, children feel pain differently, and more extremely than an adult does, this is partly why such things aren't done to children.

Do you think that abuse charges should be filed against this mother if she can be identified?
