The mother of a teen found murdered has a message for her son's killer, WYFF4 reported February 2.

Marquail Hellams, 19, was found Saturday morning in the Piedmont community near Davis and Charles Gandy Roads. He died of multiple wounds to his head and torso.

Jean Hellams Smith described her son as the type of young man everyone liked. He wanted to be a success, to be someone his family would be proud of. Marquail even talked of going to college.

Marquail was a friend and an athlete, He was also going to be a father soon, and was looking forward to the birth of his child. Marquail had his whole life ahead of him. Now his child will never know it's father, and his mother asks why anyone would want him dead.

In an interview with WYFF4, his mother stated

"Whether it was one person, two, three, four or more. Whoever did this I have the faith that God is going to work on them to the point where they're going to say I can't take it anymore."

Jean is asking anyone who knows what and why this happened to her son to come forward. Sgt. Jennings Autrey with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.

Friends and family are remembering Marquail this weekend on his Facebook page.
