Mother of slain 12-year-old boy says playmate was not a monster

The mother of the 12-year-old boy that was stabbed and killed on Monday is pleading that the media does not make out the 10-year-old boy that allegedly stabbed him, to be a monster.

"Please don't make it out that he was this terrible human being.  He's not some monster," said Lisa Carter, the boys mother, told the Union Tribune.

The 10-year-old boy allegedly fatally stabbed his 12-year-old friend, Ryan on Monday in the driveway of the 10-year-olds home on the 12500 block of Royal Road in the Winter Gardens area of El Cajon.

Ryan Carter lived at the Knolls Mobile Estates next door and attended Foothills school in Lakeside.  His parents sold their home in La Mesa to move to a mobile home so they could afford to send Ryan to Foothills, which is a private Christian school.

Ryan also seems to be the same child that was cast in the role of  the"park victim" in a short called Tales of a 5th Grade Zombie Slayer (2010) on IMDB.com that was filmed in Santee.  His resume shows he also did some modeling.

Ryan and the 10-year-old were close friends and spent most of their time together and nobody knows what caused the 10-year-old, who attends W.D. Hall Elementary, to allegedly stabbed the 12-year-old with a kitchen knife.

"Nothing like this, I never had expected this to happen.  It think it was a really big accident," said Ashley Waldorp the sister of a boy who was friends with the two boys.

Ryan was taken to Rady Children's Hospital where he died around 2:30 p.m., on Monday.
