The news was announced vie Twitter Tuesday: We are sad to announce that Matt & Kelley's mother, Nicki Kenseth, has passed away after a lengthy illness.

Matt was taking part in a closed NASCAR test at Homestead-Miami Tuesday. He had missed the 2012 NASCAR media tour in Charlotte last week presumably due to his mother’s illness.

In addition to Matt, Mrs. Kenseth is survived by her mother Audrey Loga Nasett, two brothers and one sister, her husband of 45 years Roy, daughter Kelly, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services for Nicki Kenseth will be held at 11:00 a.m. this Friday at Willerup Methodist Church in Cambridge, (WI 53523)

In lieu of flowers, the family has established memorials in Nicki’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Agrace Hospice or Willerup Methodist Church.
