A mother in Arizona has pleaded guilty to child abuse and misdemeanor DUI. She left her five week-old baby on the roof of her car when she drove off.

Catalina Clouser, 19, will be sentenced on March 26 according to Maricopa County Superior Court spokeswoman Karen Arra. Clouser was arrested last year after a witness discovered the car seat with the baby strapped in sitting in the middle of an intersection.

The witness, Leilani Gerlach said, “The baby was all nice and tucked in and nothing was wrong with him, thank god.

Police reports reveal that Clouser forgot she’d put the infant on the roof of the car. She had been at a friend’s house smoking marijuana. Phoenix Police officer James Holmes said, “We are extremely happy that for the baby this turned out well and that the baby is going to be ok.”

The baby was uninjured at was in good condition when he was found. The baby was turned over to the Arizona Child Protective Services.
