Ms. G'Orge- Walker did it again! Mother  is the second installant in the Sister Betty series and it is an excellent  and hilarious read. This time the action centers around the death of Sister Betty and Ma Cile's oldest and dearest friend, Mother Eternal Ann Everlastin who , on her 71st birthday,  died from the overdose sensation of eating a York Peppermint Pattie( they later find out that the true source was a heart attack).  After Mother's death (she was an independently wealthy widow whose husbands met untimely and mysterious deaths), Sister Betty finds out that her friend has asked, in her will, that Sister Betty please  deliver three one million dollar checks to three mega-church pastors (with special provisions attached of course).

Once again Ms. G'Orge-Walker uses humour to deliver the dual message of forgiveness and redemption (which are cornerstones of the Christian faith). And teach anyone who reads this book a lesson about "gaining the whole world, but losing ones soul" (Mark 8:26).  Her use of flashbacks to give the reader insight into how each character developed into the flawed individuals we met in the first book, makes them seem more real and  dimensional (after all there's always the "rest of the story"). This book is a real page turner and readers won't be able to put it down.
