I am a pit bull.
I am a mother.
I am in danger of losing my life...of becoming yet another statistic of a throw away society.
This dog arrived to the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Lancaster, Calif., on August 7.
Though it is readily apparent that she recently had puppies, they are nowhere to be found.
The dog, name unknown, has wounds over much of her body, surmised to be acquired at the hand of a cruel person.
Despite the loss of her puppies, despite sitting in an animal control facility, and despite the injuries, this beautiful dog is described as "incredibly sweet."
In fact, there is a damaged kennel door at one of the facility's kennel runs - the wires have been bent and it allows a dog to either poke their head out, or a passerby to stick their hand in. Only the nicest dogs, presumed to have the best of temperaments, are put into this run.
The damaged kennel run is where this sweet girl is currently residing.
Sadly, nobody has expressed an interest in this beautiful, sweet-natured dog - as a result, she is in grave danger.
