Mother dog found beneath storage shed was littered with pellets

A beautiful young dog named "Charade" has overcome an incredibly hard past. In March, the dog was discovered beneath a storage shed with a litter of newborn pups.

The good Samaritan who found her reached out for help and Janice Wolf, founder of the Arkansas-based rescue agency Rocky Ridge Refuge, agreed to sponsor the abandoned family. Charade was taken to a veterinarian where x-rays revealed that over 40 pellets were buried in her body.

The new mother also was suffering from an injury to her hip - either the result of abuse, or perhaps from being struck by a car.

After months of care in a foster home, the time has come for Charade to find a forever home. The puppies have already found new homes and Charade has no lingering effects from her injuries.

Charade's foster mom wrote the following information about this wonderful dog:

She's made incredible progress and is a happy and healthy girl. She's house-broken, crate trained, incredibly smart and will be ready for her forever home after she is spayed.

Janice Wolf added:

She needs a 5 foot fence, is good with other dogs of all sizes and children. Seems ok with cats too. About 18 months old and weighs 53lbs.

Anyone who is interested in adopting Charade is asked to visit RockyRidgeRefuge.com to fill out an adoption application. Find Rocky Ridge Refuge on Facebook here.

Note: Charade is currently located near Little Rock, Arkansas
