Most popular plastic surgery in 2013 was butt augmentation

Apparently women want to look like Kim Kardashian or Nicki Minaj, at least from behind.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, there was a 58% increase in buttock enhancement surgery in 2013.

On Thursday, plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn wrote on that he believes media, both broadcast and social, are the reason behind the bump in butts.

"Plastic surgeons are seeing more and more women who want the backsides of various stars. While I don't hear Jennifer Lopez's name much anymore, other stars with ample behinds have taken her place," he writes.

The most common type of buttock enhancement, called the "Brazilian Butt Lift," involves liposuctioning fat from the thighs or hips, purifying it, and then re-injecting it into the buttocks. The surgery takes two to three hours and costs more than $5,000. But (pun intended) you can't sit on your butt for a month. So, what are you supposed to sit on?

The other technique of buttock enhancement is the insertion of silicone implants. Youn says this surgery can be quite painful, and in the wrong hands has a high risk of infection and implant displacement.

After butt augmentation, the second most popular plastic surgery was labiaplasty, with a increase by a 44%.

This surgery involves removal of excess skin from a woman's labia minora. The skin is cut off in order to treat problems such as chafing, pain during intercourse, and even cosmetic concerns.

So what do you think about these below the belt make overs?
